Throughout its history, the UAM has been one of Spain's most prominent higher education institutions, being ranked first amongst Spanish universities by the El Mundo University Supplement (known as "Las 50 Carreras"), by The Times Higher Education Supplement, and by the Academic Ranking of World Universities yearly published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. For the subject "Mathematics" the university was ranked within top 51-75 universities in the world (within top 12 in Europe). In the "Times Higher Education 100 Under 50 University Rankings", the University achieved 49th position globally in 2012. In another similar ranking "QS Top 50 Under 50" by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the Autonomous University of Madrid recently achieved 9th place in international comparison. Its Faculty of Law is the most prestigious one in Spain. It is the Spanish university with the most researchers among the most cited according to the Thomson Reuters ranking citation in 2011.

UAMIMUN
UAMIMUN (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid International Model United Nations) is the MUN Society of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), based on its Law School.
Born in 2012, UAMIMUN is nowadays a consolidated MUN Society, having trained more than 160 delegates, from really different branches but with a common interest on international relations, diplomacy, politics, economy and geo strategy.
UAMIMUN holds for its delegates weekly practices through committee simulations, improvisation exercises, public speaking, negotiation, investigation and conflict solving skills. Moreover, it usually organizes talks, reports and workshops that help improving student’s education background, gives them advice about future employment opportunities on the field of international relations, and tries to promote their commitment within the international community.
UAMIMUN has been participating on the national and international MUN league for five years. We’ve been represented by our delegations in different conferences such as Mediterranean Model United Nations (MEDMUN), London International Model United Nations (LIMUN), Paris International Model United Nations (PIMUN), Harvard WorldMUN, Universidad de Navarra Model United Nations (UNMUN), Universidad de Salamanca Model United Nations (MUNUSAL), Universidad de Oviedo MUN (OVIMUN), Universidad Carlos III Model United Nations (UC3MUN), Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Model United Nations (URJCMUN), Universidad Complutense de Madrid Model United Nations (COMPIMUN), among others. UAMIMUN hasn’t gone unnoticed in any of this competitions, wining several wards and honorable mentions.
On the other hand, UAMIMUN organizing activity isn’t restricted to AUMUN, having co directed diverse MUN simulations with other universities such as Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) or Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as well the Madrid Simulation for International Delegations (SIMAD).

AUMUN
AUMUN 2020 will be the fifth edition of this MUN conference, organized by UAMIMUN, taking place on the Autonomous University of Madrid between the 4th and the 7th of November of 2020.
After the success and the warm welcome of AUMUN 2019, surpassing all of our expectations, we hope to make our fifth anniversary an experience even more enriching and complete for our delegates and chairs.
With an estimated participation of more than 200 delegates from Spain, Europe and other diverse places in the world, AUMUN is a conference where, through the simulation of different committees and United Nations institutions, participating students are able to discuss, negotiate, and to cooperate to share ideas, reflections and solutions for global issues of the 21st century, and, therefore, it constitutes a wonderful opportunity to promote UN values and academic excellence.
