A letter from the Secretary General
Dear delegates of AUMUN 2022,
First of all, I want to thank you on behalf of the whole Secretariat for wanting to be part in this project, and for trusting us and our organisation. It is hard to define the importance that MUNs have had in my life, but I can say without doubt that it has been an important part of my university life, both academic and personally. Thanks to them I have met people of all kinds who have shaped who I am and learnt much more than I could have imagined when I first joined an MUN.
The United Nations Model of the Autonomous University of Madrid has been one of the most important models in Spain since its inception, and we feel proud to be able to rebuild it after two years, 2020 and 2021, in which the context and sanitary situation gave no chance of doing so. This makes us even more willing to put all our efforts into preparing a model in which the academic quality and the overall experience are the foci, while not forgetting a part that is never to be forgotten when preparing and taking part in an MUN: having fun.
And that’s what we expect from you delegates, to have fun. To enjoy the debate and to prepare for it in the best way you can, to defend your delegation’s position to the best of your ability and enjoy the experience to the fullest, may it be inside or outside the committee.
I give an end to these words thanking you for participating in this model, and I encourage you to research as much as you can on your committee, your delegation, and the topics you will deal with, so you can ensure the experience in the committee will be great, as we will do our best to ensure you will outside of it.
